Home remedies for long time gastritis trouble

Gastritis is a common medical condition that can have several causes. It is characterized by the inflammation of the stomach lining and results in discomfort in the upper abdomen. Gastritis may be acute, occurring suddenly and for a brief period of time. Or it can also be chronic in which case it lasts for a longer duration and may be part of another underlying condition. Acute gastritis usually occurs after alcohol consumption or intake of certain medications. Chronic gastritis may occur due to infection by bacteria.

Certain medications, physical conditions, medical conditions and infections can contribute to the development of gastritis. Medications such as anti-inflammatory drugs, steroids, iron or potassium supplements and chemotherapy medication can all result in gastritis. In certain cases, such as when a foreign object such as a pin is swallowed or when certain poisonous chemicals are swallowed, gastritis can occur. Gastritis may also develop in individuals who are severely injured or ill. It may even occur following medical procedures such as endoscopies or after surgical procedures. Infections such as those caused by viruses, bacteria or fungus also cause gastritis. Individuals with pneumonia, tuberculosis, and syphilis are also likely to experience gastritis. Consumption of fried or spicy foods, caffeine and alcohol can also cause gastritis symptoms. Psychological stress such as that caused by depression or anxiety may also result in this condition.

Raw potato juice is believed to be beneficial for providing relief from gastritis. Drink half a glass potato juice before every meal. Honey is also known to ease symptoms of gastritis. Individuals with gastritis will also benefit from drinking coconut water thrice a day. Coconut water helps in digestion and in the removal of toxins from the body. Herbs such as chamomile and marigold are also used in the treatment of gastritis. Take a couple of tablespoons of the extract of these herbs for relief from gastritis. Ginger is very effective in alleviating digestion problems. Add a pinch of salt to a few small pieces of ginger and chew on them after meals to ease pain and discomfort in the abdomen.
