Urinary Bladder Treatment With Cranberry Juice
When germs invade the urinary bladder, an inflammation develops that can cause great irritability and discomfort. It is important that this infection is treated well in time as it can later spread to the kidneys causing serious health complications. Bladder inflammation is caused by bacteria called E. coli which enters the urinary tract through the uretha and can cause a lot of discomfort.
Its symptoms include frequent urination accompanied by a burning sensation or the urge to urinate frequently and a lot of itching. Also the urine may often be cloudy and 30 percent people may contain visible blood in the urine. The most common type of bladder infection is known as the cystitis which is seen mostly in women.
Tips For Treating Bladder Inflammation
It is recommended that you have plenty of fluids to treat bladder inflammation as every time you urinate, the bladder is cleansed. Taking a warm bath may help ease out the itching and provide some relief. Have 2 tablespoons of Lactobacillus Acidophilus thrice a day to treat bladder infections. A great herbal remedy is to have a teaspoon of fresh juice from drumstick flowers along with half a glass of coconut water twice a day.
Mix equal parts of fresh spinach juice and coconut water as the nitrate and potassium in these ingredients help in curing the infection. Certain precautions that can be taken to avoid bladder inflammations are to wipe from front to back each time you urinate and urinate within a short span time of time after sexual intercourse.
Cranberry, also known as a “super fruit” contains several vitamins and acts as an antioxidant. It is because of these properties that cranberry juice is an excellent remedy for treatment of bladder inflammation as they contain a specific type of tannin that is found only in this fruit which is known to prevent the bacteria from sticking to the walls of the bladder and causing infection.
While the symptoms persist, it is recommended that you have 7 oz. of cranberry juice daily or can also take cranberry juice supplements by simply following the instructions on the label. However, it is essential that the juice is 100 percent cranberry juice or else it will not have the desired effect as it is only the pure and quality cranberry juice that produces hippuric acid in the urine which acidifies the urine. Cranberry tablets also vary in their percentage of effective tannin and therefore may or may not be helpful.
