Improve Skin Complexion

You have not specified whether you are trying to achieve an instant glow in your hair or skin, hence the remedies here and the diet prescribed will be of a general nature although it will help for both.

In order to improve skin complexion and attain glowing skin your diet will have to concentrate on fresh fruits, green leafy vegetables, lean proteins and healthy fatty food. It is important to avoid trans fats, white flour based products and sugar. The ideal diet for glowing skin and hair include vegetables that are either raw or lightly steamed, fresh fruits, organic, grass-fed poultry, beef and other venison, sea food, flax seeds and flax seed oil, almonds, walnuts, brazil nuts, sunflower seeds and whole grain food in small quantities. As opposed to this, there are some food items you may want to avoid and these include processed junk food, high fat, high sodium meat, white bread, pasta, and bakery products and high sugar caffeinated drinks. Vitamin A rich food is essential for a naturally growing skin and your diet must include plenty of dark orange from sweet potatoes, carrots and winter squash and dark green from broccoli, kale and spinach all of which are high in vitamin A. Vitamin E is essential for good skin, and your diet can also include hazel nuts and almonds. You can stifle your junk food cravings by keeping a bowl of nuts or fruits ready at hand and the method will work wonders for your skin and hair. It would help a great deal if you could also avoid alcohol, smoking and drug abuse as it will adversely affect your body. Drink at least 5-6 litres of water to keep your body hydrated to retain the moisture in your scalp and skin. The juice of watermelon, lemons, apples and carrots will give you healthy glowing skin if had regularly over a month’s time.

If you wish to have glowing skin you can make a fine paste from two teaspoons of oats, two teaspoons of yogurt, one teaspoon of honey and crushed and powdered almonds. Apply onto the face, neck and hands and keep on for about ten minutes. Wash off with warm water for that instant glow. Mix a little sea salt into warm coconut oil and gently massage into the skin. This will both nourish it and the salt will work as an exfoliating agent cleaning up the dead cells that have accumulated. Coconut oil can also be applied on the scalp and can be alternated with jojoba, almond or olive oil to achieve healthy, glowing hair.
