Fish Soup Recipe With Spicy Ingredients For Tasty Soups

Fish Soup Ingredients:

2 salmon steaks cut into 1 inch cube size pieces
1 small onion, chopped
1 Serrano Chile pepper, seeded and finely chopped
2 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
1 clove garlic, peeled and minced
2 small plum tomatoes, chopped
2 teaspoon cooking oil
¼ teaspoon cumin seeds
¾ cup water
¼ teaspoon turmeric, ground
½ teaspoon coriander, ground
¼ teaspoon salt
Cilantro, fresh, for garnish

Method:

  1. If you use frozen salmon steaks make sure to thaw them before proceeding. Rinse the fish steaks and pat them dry with paper towels. Remove the skin, if any and also the bones from the steaks. Cut the steaks into 1 inch bite size pieces and leave aside.
  2. Heat oil in a medium sauce pan over medium heat. As some light fumes come from the heated oil, add cumin seeds and stir for about 30 seconds or till they get toasted and develop a light brown color. Add onions immediately and stir. Cook onions for about 4 to 5 minutes or until they are tender. Add Serrano pepper and ginger and cook for another one minute. Stirring continuously. Add tomatoes and stir further for 4 to 5 minutes till they are softened. Add salt, coriander and turmeric and mix well with the vegetable mixture. As the oil begins to separate from the spices and softened tomatoes add water and bring the contents to boil over medium heat. Reduce heat and simmer after a boil add salmon pieces, stir and cover the pan. Cook for 5 to 6 minutes or until the fish is done. Test the fish with a fork, if the fish flakes easily then consider it done. Remove in a serving bowl and serve hot immediately. Garnish with fresh chopped cilantro if desired. This recipe makes 2 servings.

Health Tip:
