Easy Tips For Health At Your Fingertips

Easy Health At Your Fingertips - Know How ?

Most of us do not realize it but we actually have health at our fingertips. The way we treat our bodies finally determines our health. Just lack of illness is not health. Total health relates to physical as well as mental, emotional and psychological well-being.

Lifestyle Changes For Better Health

Maintaining good health is determined by our complete lifestyle. A balanced and proper diet, sufficient exercise, avoiding over-indulgence with alcohol, good hygiene and a positive outlook in life are the factors which will ensure overall health.

A balanced and proper diet: Never skip a meal. In doing so, you become so hungry that you tend to overeat at the next meal. Have 4 to 5 small meals, with a light snack in between if the gap is too long. It is difficult to keep counting calories all the time, so just eat smaller portions. Avoid junk food. Cut down on fats and sugars. Include lots of whole grains, fruits, herbs and vegetables in your diet.

This will ensure that you get a balanced amount of nutrients like carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins and minerals, which will help build up your immune system. While nuts and dairy products are nutritious, limit their quantities. Pick yogurt over milk. When you want to snack stay away from sweets, cakes and pizzas, and pick a fruit or a vegetable instead.

In the long run you will find that they are far more satisfying. Avoid diet drinks and artificial sweeteners since they are known to contain certain chemicals which put strain on the liver in the long run.

Drink plenty of water to hydrate yourself and flush out toxins.

Smoking And Alcohol: The use of tobacco by smoking, snorting or chewing is harmful, and is known to cause cancers and heart disease. Excess alcohol too, leads to build-up of harmful toxins in the body. Try to reduce or cut out these factors.

Exercise And Sunshine: Daily exercise is essential for good health. Exercise stimulates the muscles of the entire body. It strengthens the heart, help in the lubrication of the joints and makes our lungs and digestive system work more efficiently. It helps in the increased intake of oxygen and better circulation of blood. It helps to flush out toxins, either by sweating or through our kidneys and bowels.

Exercise also produces a chemical called endorphins which prevents depression. If you cannot exercise in a gym, go for a jog, walk or bike ride. Walk to school or work, and take the stairs instead of the elevator. Clean the house, do some gardening, play with your kids, take the dog for a run or wash your car. Even 30 minutes of exercise is enough.

Lose That Weight: Being overweight increases the risk of diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, heart disease, strokes, arthritis and certain cancers.

Hygiene: Keeping clean is an important part of good health. Washing your hands periodically and especially before eating helps to keep away bacteria and viruses. A daily bath which includes scrubbing the skin and brushing and flossing your teeth are also essential, as they ensure the removal of existing bacteria.
