Diet Tips And Diabetes Diet Plan

Due to diabetes heart disease and strokes are accelerated as the risk of clocked and hardened arteries is much higher. Hence it is important to see that no more than seven percent of daily calories are obtained from saturated fat. It is best to avoid Transfat completely and some ways of reducing the amount of saturated fat in your diet is to limit eating solid fats such as the butter, margarine and shortening. Opt for low-fat substitutions and choose sugar free fruit spreads on bread toast instead of margarine. In place of butter try low-fat yoghurt of salsa for enhanced taste and as a healthy option.  Oils such as olive oil or canola oil are monounsaturated fats and is a good option as a cooking medium. Polyunsaturated fats that are found in dried nuts and seeds can be had in moderation. However all fat must be introduced in reduced quantities when following a heart healthy diet.

Fatty deposits in the blood vessels are formed when there is too much cholesterol in the blood. These deposits in the arteries can cause difficulty for the flow of blood. Cholesterol must be kept to minimum and no more than 200 mg of cholesterol must be consumed in a day. In order to cut down on the amount of cholesterol you must use lean cuts of meat in place of organ meat, choose skimmed milk over whole milk products, and off for egg substitutes in place of egg yolks.

Choosing a healthy eating plan is one of the best ways to keep blood sugar under control and prevent heart disease complications.
