A healthy and mindful eating pattern with lifestyle modification and regular exercise are the basic guidelines behind weight loss. Carbohydrates are less in the day time, due to which cardio exercises are recommended in the morning. Various commonly performed cardio exercises are stair climbing, jogging ski machines, elliptical exercises, cycling, treadmill and brisk walking.

Bicycles, step aerobics and treadmills are rated at the top of weight loss exercises. Sports, such as basketball, golf and football are avoided.


Weight loss workouts require consistency in the sessions. About three to five days a week of aerobic exercises are recommended. Rowing machines help in workout of the whole body, thereby burning a lot of calories. Exercycling is yet another option which aids in burning the calories. Weight training helps in gain of muscle mass.

An impression of increased weight is got initially, though a significant weight loss is seen after a few days. Picking up an activity, especially after the noon meal, is vital. This helps in decreasing the hunger cravings. Spreading the meals over the day, finally landing up with four to five meals per day, is helpful. This results in decreased calorie intake. Alternate therapies, such as meditation and yoga also prove beneficial. Deep breathing in a slow manner is also effective.
