I am not in a position to explain the exact weight loss necessary in your case, as information such as your height, sex, activity levels and diet schedule are not available. I shall list down the various ways to lose weight. Try to incorporate the same in your daily schedule, on the basis of your preferences.

  • Weight loss is not equivalent to deprivation of food. Many a people misunderstand the association between food and weight loss. 'Eating wise' and not 'Eating less' is the slogan for weight loss. Choice of right foods helps a great deal in shedding the extra pounds.
  • Be steady in your diet and idea to lose weight. Perseverance is important, as it takes time to experience the results.
  • Eat frequently, but eat limited amounts. The decrease in the gap between meals helps to overcome the hunger pangs.
  • A three meal pattern with three small snacks proves beneficial. Avoid compulsive eating. Fix a regular time to eat. Do not skip any meal, as it results in excessive bingeing in the next meal, a kind of compensatory effect!!
  • Complete abstinence from sweets and desserts might have an opposite effect. Hence, try to reduce them rather than to avoid them.
  • Opt for foods low in fat and high in dietary fiber. Foods that prove effective are those rich in complex carbohydrates, such as pulses, legumes, whole grains, fruits and vegetables, as they provide satiety. Avoid kidney and lima beans, as it also contributes to a lot of calories.
  • Do not nibble on any foods in between meals. This increases the intake to a great extent.
  • Non stick cookware helps in reduction of oil in the daily diet. Oil sprays also help in the same function.
  • A food diary helps in recording the intake, be it solids or liquids. A review by the end of the day reveals the unnecessary intake, which is later avoided.
  • Exercise proves beneficial in weight loss, in conjunction with lifestyle modifications and dietary regimen. Adherence to these go a long way in providing help.
  • Walking, swimming and jogging are some exercises that do not require any sophisticated equipments. These can be done at any time. About thirty to forty five minutes of rigorous cardiovascular exercises help. Hitting the treadmill in the gym is one of the most effective and pollution free techniques to lose those pounds!
  • Abstinence from alcoholic and carbonated beverages proves beneficial. Smoking is also prohibited.
