Advice on Juice Diet

A juice diet involves all kinds of juices and helps in detoxification. It involves the juices of all the edible vegetables and fruits. It is generally followed for a few days, as depletion of essential nutrients is seen. It is a good source of antioxidants and other vitamins. A juice diet calls for medical attention, as it might result in further complications and deficiencies.


Spring is the best time to follow juice diet.

Individuals suffering from renal failure, heart diseases, under weight, anaemia, hypoglycaemia, hepatic problems, ulcerative colitis, nutritional deficiencies, epilepsy, impaired immunity and so on. Children, lactating and pregnant women are not recommended a juice diet. Juice diet is not recommended prior to or after surgery. Blood proteins are decreased and the method of reaction of prescription drugs reaction in the body is modified.

A juice diet is recommended for not more than three days. Individuals on prescription drugs, call for medical attention, prior to consumption. Protein and calcium deficiencies are seen on continuous intake of juice diet. Grapefruit juice is not preferred. About 32 to 64 ounces of juice is taken per day. Six glasses of water is consumed in addition to the juice. Fruits and vegetables that are organic are effective.
