Advice on Weight Loss Products
The weight loss product is a multi-million dollar industry and there are varied number of products available, some effective and some a plain sham. Most weight loss products are usually powdered drinks shakes that are recommended to be taken along with a glass of milk or water. Some weight loss food products such as energy snack bars or frozen entrees are also recommended in place of food, which in the long run is not a good eating habit to maintain.
Some prescription weight loss products contain appetite suppressants such as PPA (phenylpropanolamine hydrochloride). PPA is known to increase the blood pressure amongst other side effects. Ephedra which is another composition used in weight loss products is also well known among dieters. However ephedra has a myriad of dangerous side effects such as giddiness, hypertension and increased heart rate, heart attack, strokes and seizures and in some cases of blatant use, even death.
Most weight loss product that are often advertised as substitutes for whole meals do not serve the purpose after the desired weight has been achieved. In most cases, people who discontinue weight loss products regain their weight and sometimes even more than what they used to weight before. Such products are not natural methods of dieting and sometimes have short term effects on dieters. It is imperative to know how proper and wholesome food can work as diet foods in itself, instead of relying on artificial formulas to lose weight.
