Detoxify Body
The chief focus of a Cleanse diet is to detoxify the body, promote weight loss and restore good health. Besides cleansing the main organs, it also improves complexion and makes one feel rejuvenated. There are several types of Cleanses:
- Colon Cleanse – Beneficial for overall health, it recommends consumption of fresh organically grown vegetables and herbs with the addition of natural supplements like Psyllium to the diet.
- Master Cleanse – Also known as the Lemonade diet, forbids the intake of solid food. It recommends drinking of a blend of lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper in purified water.
- Skin Cleansing – It advocates the use of skin cleansing techniques like sauna, skin brushing, contrast showers in addition to diet change and the drinking of 8-12 glasses of water a day.
- Liver Cleanse – Consumption of apple juice followed by a mixture of olive oil with fresh fruit juice before sleeping promotes the removal of gall stones from the body.
- Ayurvedic Cleanse – It involves flushing out the toxins from the body and cleansing the mind in 3 phases.
- Kidney Cleanse – Large amounts of water in addition to increase in consumption of watermelon fruit is promoted.
- Arise and Shine Cleanse - Cleansing the entire digestive tract through the use of certain herbs.
Fat Flush Cleanse, Gallbladder Cleanse, Parasite Cleanse, Anti-Candida Cleanse are also other types of Cleanse diets. The basic principle of all these diets is the removal of toxin buildup and waste matter which in turn will help to invigorate the body. However, such highly restrictive diets are not safe if observed for prolonged periods.
