Weight Loss with Cabbage Soup

Considering the main aim of weight loss, Cabbage Soup Diet helps accomplish this by letting the dieter consume as much cabbage soup as he or she wants. This diet is definitely high in fiber and low in fat. It include vegetables mainly from the Brassica family e.g. cabbage, which is known to aid in the prevention of cancer. But it is not a very nutritionally sound and balanced diet.

People complain about the absolute monotony of the diet and bland taste of the soup. However, it is effective only as a short term solution. This 7 day diet plan includes:

  • Day 1:    Only fruits but no banana. Have cabbage soup with no limitations on the quantity.
  • Day 2: Vegetables as per choice – fresh, raw or cooked with cabbage soup. A baked potato with butter can be had for dinner. But avoid fruits.
  • Day 3: As much fruit and vegetable and cabbage soup but no baked potato.
  • Day 4: As much as 6-8 bananas and skim milk including cabbage soup.
  • Day 5: 6-8 glasses of water to cleanse your body. Besides cabbage soup, one can have up to 6 tomatoes and fish or meat (450 Gms).
  • Day 6: Cabbage soup at least once. Include meat and vegetables but avoid potato.
  • Day 7: As much brown rice, vegetables and non-sweetened fruit juice. Soup can be consumed at least once, but no carbonated beverages, alcohol or bread.
Though weight loss is assured due to the negligible caloric content, it is advisable not adhere to this diet for more than 7 days.
