Vitamins For Weight Loss

In order to know which are the best vitamins for weight loss one should realize that the body’s weight related function or weight control mechanisms such as metabolism of sugars and fats, metabolic rate, hunger and appetite, burning of calories and so on tend to operate in a more efficient manner if there is an ideal intake of vitamins. The various vitamins play an integral role in the maintenance of optimum weight and health. Some of the most important supplements for weight loss or multivitamins for weight loss are Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Choline (part of B-complex), Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin C and Inositol (part of B-complex). Vitamin B2 is one of the important vitamins for weight loss as it helps in the normal functioning of the thyroid gland as well in optimal metabolism of the food consumed. Some of the food sources of vitamin B2 are liver and kidney, leafy green vegetables, eggs, milk and so on.

Similarly another one of the vitamins for weight loss is niacin or vitamin B 3 which is extremely essential for the production of the thyroid hormone. Niacin is also an integral part of the glucose tolerance factor which gets released each time the levels of blood sugar rise. Some of the good natural sources of niacin are oats, wheat bran, wheat flakes, brown rice, meat, chicken eggs and so on. Additionally another one of the supplements for weight loss is vitamin B5. Vitamin B5 is one of the essential vitamins for weight loss because it tends to interfere with the capacity of the body to utilize fat and is also essential in the production of energy. Vitamin B5 also aids one adrenal function. Some of the good sources of vitamin B5 are poultry, wheat flakes, eggs, molasses, beans, green vegetables and so on. Vitamin B6 is another one of the essential vitamins for weight loss that regulates the production of the thyroid hormone and also regulates ones metabolism.

Some of the vitamin B6 rich sources of food are poultry, beef, mackerel, bananas, molasses, dried fruits and so on. Choline which is a member of the vitamin B complex family is also one of the essential multivitamins for weight loss. Choline however is not an actual vitamin as it is produced in the liver. Choline is extremely essential for efficient metabolism of fat and any deficiency of choline will result in the fats getting trapped in the liver itself. Some of the excellent natural sources of choline are beef liver, lecithin, egg yolks, cucumber, peanuts and so on. Similarly Inositol is also a member of the Vitamin B complex family which is also manufactured within the body itself. Inositol is one of the essential vitamins for weight loss as inositol tends to combine with choline to aid metabolism of fat. Some of the good sources of inositol are beef liver, beef heart, citrus fruits, soy, eggs etc. Vitamin C is also one of the best vitamins for weight loss besides other health benefits. Vitamin C aids in the correct conversion of glucose into energy in the body cells. Green peppers, lemons strawberries, oranges etc are some of the excellent natural sources of vitamin C. Among best fruits for weight loss, one finds the kiwi fruit which is also a good source of Vitamin C. In addition to vitamins there are also certain minerals that are excellent for weight loss such as chromium which is required by the body for the metabolism of sugar. A deficiency of chromium will result in the reduction of the effectiveness of insulin in controlling the levels of blood sugar in the body.  As a result it becomes difficult for the body to burn off the food consumed as fuel for the various bodily functions.
