Weight Training Benefits

Health benefits of Weight Training 

Weight training is also called as resistance training or strength training. These exercises are organized in which the muscles of the body are made to contract in response to external weight, physical exercises, or resistance in order to stimulate growth and strength in the body. These exercises can be done in the gym or health centers or at home. Certain workplaces have basic equipments and have installed gym work outs. The gym can have a combination of free weights, machines, chairs, benches, balls and bands. The equipments that are generally observed in any gym are dumbbells, bar bells, bars with adjustable plate weights, treadmills, and step machines and cross trainers. A need of personal trainer is essential in a gym. He should be well qualified and have a track record of quality work. He can help you in training sessions and work outs.

Thus the weight training session can be done if proper shoes, clothes, towel and water bottle are taken with you. It is very essential to carry out a warm up before taking up any heavy weight training exercises. Thus walk or jog on the trend mill for 10 to 15 minutes is essential. This will help in blood circulation, loosen the joints, and increase the mobility of muscles. It is preferable to do work out in the gym rather than the house as it will    avoid distractions.

  • These exercises are useful for improving the strength, appearance and can help an individual for preparing for any competition.
  • It can prevent in development of any diseases like diabetes, osteoporosis and obesity.
  • It can enhance the balance and functions of certain organs in individuals as they age.
  • It is also useful for the control and management of certain disorders like arthritis, heart diseases and stroke.
  • It can help in preparation of the body for certain power lifting competitions like Olympic lifting and Power lifting.
  • It can be useful for the recovery and physical therapy of the patients recovering from accidents and hospitalization.
  • It is helpful in toning and shaping up the body for higher self esteem and confidence.
These exercises need to be carried out under the supervision of the doctor and physical trainer especially if the person is suffering from heart problems and breathing problems.
