Information on Eating Disorder
Eating disorders are complex conditions which can rise from different areas like psychological conditions, biological, emotional, long standing behavioral conditions, interpersonal and social conditions. These are some of the general issues which can cause the onset on an eating disorder, however scientists are still trying to learn the underlying causes of physically and emotionally damaging conditions. Eating disorders may seem to be preoccupations with weight and food, but most of them are much more complicated. People suffering form an eating disorder often use food as a means to control their feelings and emotions which would otherwise seem over-whelming. Psychological conditions that can contribute to an eating disorder includes depression, anger, loneliness, anxiety, low self esteem, lack of control in life and feeling of inadequacy. Interpersonal factors which can contribute to an eating disorder includes peer teasing for size or weight, any previous sexual or physical abuse, difficult family relations and trouble to express emotions and feelings. Social factors those are responsible for an eating disorder includes cultural norms, narrow definition for a perfect body and thinness. Biological factors include an imbalance of certain chemicals in brain which are related to hunger and satiety (this factor is still under investigation) and family history.
