Overweight Children Information

amount of weight looks really good when a child is small as that weight makes him look chubby and sweet. But as a child begins to grow, gradually that weight should be replaced by muscle mass for him to become a healthy adult. Most of the children become overweight because their body receives more calories than what they can burn. Theses calories are mainly derived form their favorite foods like junk foods, pizzas, burgers, hotdogs, colas, sodas, sweets, desserts and bakery goods. These foods are laden with all wrong fats and sugars. This dietary lifestyle when coupled with sedentary activities like watching television, playing computer games and studying can cause the excess fats to store in the body tissues. Childhood obesity can also be due to heredity but modern lifestyle plays an important role in making a child overweight. An overweight child can suffer from a long list of health problems like breathing problems such as sleep apnea, emotional imbalance children with excess weight can become sad, angry, happy or depressed too easily, they have low self esteem and high peer pressures. These emotions like sadness can lead to binging as food can make them feel comfortable which can cause more weight gain. Extra weight can also put a child at a risk of getting diabetes and heart disease in the long run.
