Cabbage soup diet for weight loss The Cabbage soup diet comprises of a low calorie cabbage soup for the entire week. Individual results may vary, though it promises weight loss. All the fruits are allowed on the first day, except banana. Unsweetened coffee or black tea is allowed. Unlimited amount of the soup is taken. Day two comprises of fresh, cooked or raw vegetables. Fruits are not consumed. A baked potato is allowed with unlimited amount of the soup. A combination of the first two days, devoid of potato is taken on the third day.
Skimmed milk and eight bananas are consumed on the fourth day. Six tomatoes with 20 ounces of beef are recommended on day five. About 8 glasses of water are taken for flushing off the uric acid. Two to three streaks of beef with vegetables and fruits comprise the sixth day, devoid of baked potato. Bread and carbonated beverages are not allowed. Brown rice vegetables and unsweetened juice are allowed on the last day.
The ingredients are 2 green peppers, 6 large onions, 3 carrots, a can of tomatoes, half a head of cabbage, 10 oz of mushrooms, a bunch of celery, a cube or two of bouillon and seasonings, such as pepper, parsley, garlic powder, curry powder, parsley, salt and so on. Sauté the onions and add diced pepper. Cut cabbage into bite sized pieces and added to the pot. Carrots and mushrooms are sliced and added. Curry powder or cayenne pepper is added to make the soup spicy. Chicken or bouillon cubes are optional. Salt and flavouring are decreased in this case, as they have a lot of salt in them. About 12 cups of water are added and allowed to cook for at least 2 hours. Salt and other flavourings are added and served hot.
