Diet for gastritis and acid reflex

I need a diet chart for chronic gastritis and acid reflex. Thanks
(September 13, 2011)

A gastritis and acid reflux diet chart is typically recommended to individuals to minimize and control the symptoms associated with this medical condition. One of the most important aspects of the gastritis and acid reflux diet chart is that one should consume foods that have high protein content as protein is known to help in the repair of the areas of the stomach that may have been damaged. On the other hand the diet for gastritis and acid reflux should not include foods that are too spicy, oily, fried or high in fats as they tend to further irritate the lining of the stomach. Individuals suffering from gastritis should also ensure that they consume plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits such as pears, melons and bananas that are rich in vitamin C which is useful in protecting the stomach from inflammation and in healing wounds. The ideal diet to follow should include dairy products, lean meats, cereals and vegetables.

Does green tea help in acid reflux?

Acid reflux occurs when digestive juices move up the esophagus because of some digestive issue. Normally, digestive acids should not leave the stomach from the upper entry. Acid reflux causes discomfort and a burning sensation in the chest that is often termed as ‘heartburn’. There are a number of different options that can be used for acid reflux. People suffering from chronic acid reflux should moderate their meals in such a way that they eat a few small meals rather than three large meals each day.

One can also use green tea for acid reflux. Green tea is known for its many health benefits and it should be used by an individual who has digestive issues. It is important to use any herbal tea for acid reflux. Herbal teas such as green tea are much less stressful on the digestive system. Coffee and regular tea both tend to promote acidity, something that is best avoided when one is suffering from acid reflux. Green tea also has the ability of satisfying one’s cravings for a warm beverage each morning. Studies have shown that this tea is better for the health of the body over a period of time when compared with other caffeinated drinks like tea and coffee.

Can milk benefit gastritis?

Cow or buffalo milk is consumed in large quantities across the world and forms one of the basic ingredients of many cuisines and foods. In its simple form, milk is consumed either plain or with flavoring added to it. Gastritis is a condition where the stomach is affected by some sort of infection or allergy which leads to indigestion, pain, gas and discomfort. The individual may also suffer from peptic ulcers as a result of this gastritis.

When it comes to the use of milk for gastritis, it is important to make sure that milk is not the cause of the problem in the first place. Some people with lactose intolerance problems tend to suffer from gastritis because of milk consumption. However, if this is not the case, one can use milk to help provide relief when one is suffering from a sudden attack of acidity. Milk, particularly chilled milk, tends to line the stomach and soothe it immediately after it is consumed. At this time, one should consume some food that is both healthy and non-spicy. This food will be digested and the acidity in the stomach will get neutralized. One must completely avoid old milk if one is suffering from gastritis.
