Weight loss in kids

my son is 4yrs old and weighs 27kg, kindly suggest a diet plan that will help him lose a few kg .He has a sweet tooth.

A large number of children today are overweight, and if they are not checked early, they will grow into obese adults, increasing their risk of high blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, and other health issues. Therefore, the need for weight loss for kids is of the utmost priority. Weight loss programs for kids supervised by health experts focus on two factors: a regimen of healthy nutritious diet and plenty of physical exercise.

A sedentary lifestyle as in sitting in front of the television or the computer for long hours, lack of physical activity, and a wrong diet for kids are major reasons for overweight children. Ready-to-eat-meals, frozen, processed, and fast food eaten in a hurry at erratic times while watching television also play havoc with their health; hence, the emphasis on weight loss for children.




However, children require calories to produce energy to help them perform their routine each day. Hence, weight loss for kids is determined by using a body mass index calculator. The number of calories needed on a daily basis is calculated according to the child’s age, gender, and rate of metabolism. Obesity in kids can be addressed by a healthy diet containing the right amount of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, and vegetables. Exercise is also a must for weight loss for kids.

Teen obesity can be due to genetic disorders, hormonal imbalances, emotional disturbances, which lead to binge eating, or problems at home or school. Healthy camaraderie among family members, empathetic conversations with your children,  emotional support, fat free home made food, frequent snacks, baked substitutes instead of fried stuff, and fruit juices instead of 100% aerated drinks along with plenty of physical exercise are recommended for weight loss for teens
Weight loss tips for kids. Nowadays, with both parents away at work, the children are on their own most of the time. Adopt healthy habits and lead your children by example. A positive approach and motivation from parents and peers will enable weight loss for kids. The first step is no television or video games. Get the children to help put together healthy meals. Have proper sit-down meals with them. Plan family picnics and outdoor activities with them. Get involved in their lives. Yoga is good for mind, body, and soul. Sign up for yoga classes with your kids. Rather than banning their favourite foods altogether, cut down on the serving amount and substitute with healthy alternatives. Add more fruits and vegetables to their daily diet for weight loss for kids.

Children, who are 4 year old, weigh around 15 to 17 kgs. He is over weight by 10 kgs. A poor eating habit is the main cause of abnormal weight gain in children. Fast foods and junk foods are the most common culprits. Drinking soft drinks is yet another unwanted pattern of a child's diet. Absence of physical activity also results in excessive weight gain. Exercises are completely abstained from, owing to the stationary activities, such as watching television, playing computer games and so on. They are physically inactive and are devoid of any kind of outdoor play.

Genes are also responsible for obesity in children. Abstinence from chips and French fries helps. They contain Trans fats and other saturated fats that are harmful for the body. Processed and junk foods are better avoided. Go in for more fruits and vegetables. Behavioural factors, namely boredom, sadness, loneliness, feeling of being neglected result in excessive and improper eating habits. Childhood obesity is life threatening, as cardiac problems, diabetes, cancer, hypertension, sleep related disorders and so on. Inculcate good eating habits in the child. Include a lot of vegetables and fruits with whole grains and legumes. Make physical activity compulsory, on a daily basis. Reduce the watching of television and avoid procuring junk foods.
