Diet for Weight Loss
Your concern for weight loss is obvious, but certain information such as sex, height, eating pattern and activity pattern are essential to determine your ideal body weight. Therefore, a personalized diet chart cannot be given. But, certain guidelines are considered to be standard and are followed by every individual aiming for a weight loss. Avoid three large meals and opt for smaller meals.
Include lots of complex carbohydrates to enhance the fibre content, thereby increasing the satiety levels. This results in reducing the calorie intake. All vegetables are considered, other than tubers, as they are starchy and contribute to calories. Avoid fried foods and processed foods. The fat and sodium content are high. Increased fat increases the calories, whereas sodium results in water retention, thereby contributing to weight gain and other complications. Alcohol and smoking are avoided.
Carbonated beverages and junk foods are completely abstained from. Skimmed milk and skimmed curd is helpful. Avoid high fat milk and other dairy products. Butter, clarified butter and hydrogenated fats are better avoided. Lean meat, deskinned chicken, fish and egg white are the animal foods recommended. Regular exercise helps a great extent in weight loss. Walking, jogging and swimming prove beneficial. Visit a nutritionist for individual diet chart.
