Food for gout: What fish is having high purine content that should be avoided by gout patient. I have two different version of article about eggs..one say is ok for gout patient and the other said should be avoided. pls advice. Regards.

Although purine content in all the fishes is high, fish such as tuna, trout, sardines, herring, fish roes, and anchovies are especially high in purines.

Egg white is pure proteins without purines, 1-2 servings per week is recommended. Avoid in excess.

Other high purine foods to be avoided include yeast, organ meats such as liver, kidneys, meat extracts and alcohol.
