Alternative Treatment for Weight Gain

Your main aim in increasing weight should be to build up muscle content rather than eating high fat foods that may be a short term goal but may have long term health implications. A high protein diet combined with dense complex carbohydrates is a popular way to increase mass content in the body. Some high protein foods include any and all kinds of fish, lean meat, pulses, turkey, lentils, egg whites etc. Healthy carbohydrate intake includes whole grain breads, starchy vegetables, dried cereals, fruits such as bananas and figs, beans soups, dried nuts and seeds etc. Aim for foods that are whole grain and organic rather than refined white flour goods because of the level of nutritional value that the latter has to offer.

Incorporate healthy bean and lentil soups as these have a good amount of calories and also healthy carbohydrates. Although creamy soups and thick stews are also high-calorie options, they can be extremely high in saturated fat and should be consumed in moderate quantities.

To convert the protein and carbohydrate into solid muscle, involve yourself in strength activity or resistance training. Weight training helps to transform the proteins into muscle rather than convert it into unhealthy flab. An exercise regime of three to four times a week will start to show results in four weeks.
