A very practical way to reduce weight is by following a regime of diet and exercise. Any fad diet would be highly impractical way to lose weight as although the weight loss through that way is very quick as soon as you return to your normal regular lifestyle the weight is gained back in a lightening speed. Also these diets tend to restrict a lot of food items which are highly impractical and cannot be followed in a long run. So for a permanent solution follow some dietary and lifestyle modifications which will give you best results and a healthy body.

  • For fiber and complex carbohydrates focus on whole cereals and grains and its products. Completely avoid refined and processed flours or products as these are very low in fiber and other nutrients. Also for vegetarian sources of protein include pulses, sprouts and double skimmed dairy products.
  • Include eggs, poultry, fish and lean meat in moderation as they would provide good quality proteins in the diet.
  • Include lots of fresh fruits and vegetables in the form of cut fruits, salads or coked vegetables. Remember that salad should be enjoyed with simple dressings like salt, pepper, lime juice or vinegar, avoid any fat dressings.
  • Drink lots of water and exercise well. Exercise will help to burn fat and increase the muscle mass in the body which is required to remain fit for life.
