Whey Protein Preparation Tips

Yes definitely the whey products available in the market are fat too costly. It would be great if you can prepare whey protein or include food sources rich in whey protein at home level. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins and proteins are made up of two types of amino acids – essential amino acids and non-essential amino acids. Whey proteins are very high quality complete proteins present in milk. Milk contains 27% proteins out of which 80% is casein and 20% is whey proteins. While preparation of cottage cheese or cheese the water which is separated from the milk (from the curd) contains all the whey proteins. This water is then purified to various concentrations to derive whey protein. This is the reason why they are so expensive, as lot of effort is required to derive whey protein. Naturally you can include whey protein in your diet by including milk and milk products like yoghurt, curds and buttermilk. The water is separated out while preparing cottage cheese should never be discarded as it has the highest amount of whey proteins. Utilize that water by adding it in vegetable gravy, soup or simply use it as a substitute to water which is used to make bread dough. You can even add a small teaspoon of sugar and drink that healthy glass of protein. It would become difficult to prepare whey protein powder at home as the machineries required for purification and dehydration are not available.
