What is a diet food list and how is it helpful to me? Please give me some advice.

Diet food list encompasses all the foods that are healthy and proves beneficial in overall health. A nutritious diet helps in improving the health and prevents the entry of toxic substances. Prior to knowledge of diet food list, allergy to certain foods is known. If you are allergic to certain foods, they are completely avoided from the diet. Refer to your physician regarding your allergy to foods.

Avoid 'bad' foods and opt for 'good' foods. What are good foods? They are those that have a positive impact on health. Vegetables, eaten raw or cooked, provide a lot of antioxidants and phytonutrients. Fresh fruits are a storehouse of vitamins, phytonutrients and minerals.

Preserved fruits and vegetables are not preferred, as they are a rich source of sodium or sugar. Low fat dairy products are of great help. Skimmed milk and skimmed yoghurt are a great substitute for whole milk or whole curd. Mono and unsaturated oils are preferred, such as groundnut oil, sunflower oil, safflower oil, mustard oil and so on. Omega 3 fatty acids are derived from fish oil, flaxseed oil, pumpkin seeds, soya bean and so on. Adequate amount of water, around eight to ten glasses are preferred. This helps in flushing off the toxins, drugs and various metabolites.

Diet Food List helps in right choice of right foods, thereby helping in maintenance of weight. It also prevents various complications, such as diabetes, stroke, and renal problems and so on. Pizzas, burgers, French fries and other junk foods are avoided. Carbonated beverages or fizzy drinks with junk foods are a common combination. Avoid them and opt for fresh juices with little added sugar. Low fat and low calorie desserts are preferred. A healthy lifestyle also ensures good health. Smoking and alcohol are not recommended.
