Diabetes Treatment Diet 

Treatment of diabetes is essential to avoid complications due to diabetes. It is also necessary to maintain the normal blood glucose level and lipid level. For the treatment of diabetes, it is essential to take the help of doctor and dietician who can help the diabetics in recommending a healthy diet that are interesting and easy to follow.

Diabetes treatment diet helps the diabetics in leading a normal life. This diet helps in calculating the correct calories that are needed for the individual according to the physical activity, age and condition .This diet is helpful in maintaining a normal blood glucose level by providing the foods in correct amounts and in right time. The exchange list that is available can provide variety foods in each group with the number of servings that needs to be consumed throughout the day.


This diet helps in losing weight gradually rather than the drastic reduction which can lead to problems in the long run.

According to the diabetes treatment diet, about 55 to 60 % of the calories should come from carbohydrates, 12 to 20 % from protein and 20 to 25% from fat. Spacing of meals is essential rather than heavy intake of meals twice a day. Avoid saturated fats as it can enhance the cholesterol level and increase the monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fat intake .Rather than the quantity of foods taken take care of the type of foods as certain foods can increase the blood glucose levels rapidly.
