It is a well known fact that vitamins are absolutely essential, not just for the proper functioning of the human body, but also for animals and plants. There are thirteen different types of essential vitamins, that can be derived from the consumption of various plant and animal based foods. You have probably heard, time and again, that you need to eat fresh fruits and vegetables, as they provide the necessary vitamins for your body.  In some cases, when people suffer from vitamin deficiencies, health experts may also recommend vitamin supplements. However, there are several people who often wonder about the importance of various vitamins and how vitamins help the body. Some people go as far as checking with their doctors “do vitamins help?”.

There are several medical and health conditions that people suffer from in today’s world. • Vitamin B: More commonly referred to as Vitamin B complex, this group of vitamins helps regulate the functioning of the digestive system which is very important for the proper absorption of various nutrients. Unlike other vitamins, B complex Vitamins can also have several mental benefits, like stress reduction.
• Vitamin C: Out of all the benefits of Vitamin C that are known of, the most important one is the production of collagen, which is very important for healing wounds and boosting the immune system.
• Vitamin D: This vitamin helps in the proper absorption of calcium in the body. It also enables the body to fight off various diseases and conditions, like cancer, diabetes and obesity.
• Vitamin E: Since Vitamin E has antioxidant properties, it helps to protect the body against various diseases, which include cancer and heart conditions. It helps boost the immune system, heals injuries faster and is usually very important in skincare.
• Vitamin K: Some of the main health benefits that have been associated with Vitamin K are the formation of blood clots and initiation of the healing process.
