Exercising regularly
is an effective way to manage your blood glucose.

for about 30 to 45 minutes at least thrice a week to be able to control your blood sugar.
Cut down on your intake of “white foods” such as white sugar, white flour, etc.; instead increase your consumption of whole grains and
dietary fiber

Unless your doctor has recommended otherwise, increase your intake of fluids.
High blood glucose
can cause you to lose body fluid making your skin dry.
This could lead to it itchy or cracked skin that is susceptible to infection. Water will help keep your skin moisturized and healthy.
Wear your medical alert bracelet. If at any time you are confused, or unable to communicate with people, crucial time can be saved by letting people know that you are diabetic.
It is important to keep tabs on your blood glucose. This will help you maintain the levels and also be aware of any fluctuations in your levels. By doing this, you can catch any problem before it gets out of control.
Remember to take your medications regularly. This may sound very obvious to you, but many people do not take their medication on time and in the dosages that are prescribed for them. This can lead to some serious complications.
Take good care of your feet. You can do this by washing and drying them well. Make sure you do not walk around barefoot and always wear shoes and socks that fit well. Remember that if you are diabetic the chances of getting foot problems such as infection and reduced blood flow are higher.
