Healthy Living Tips: If one wants to have a healthy and dynamic life, free from diseases and other medical problems and which is full of vitality and energetic, then the goal should be eating healthy for life. This is not a very difficult task as it seems to be. It need not be a chore if one follows some very simple and common tips. There are just three things one needs to take care of. Those are calories, fats and carbohydrates.

Firstly, figure out how much calories does your body need for its functioning and its wear and tear.

Adjust your diet accordingly to that much amount. The amount of calories a person needs varies widely from person to person as it depends on the metabolism of the body. Some people have high metabolism and hence need more calories whereas some might not.

It also depends on how physically active a person is. The calorie intake of a person who works out is should be more than a person who doesn’t. Muscle mass also plays an important role here.

The muscle mass determines the amount of calories the body burns daily. People having more muscles require more calories than people who don’t have muscles.

Secondly, one should not exclude fats completely from the diet.

Fats are important and essential for your body to function properly. Our skin and hair remain healthy because of fats. It is important that one chooses right kind of fats and do not over consume it. Products which contain animal fats or vegetable oil contain a lot of calories. Hence try and avoid these foods. Look for foods which contain mono unsaturated fatty acids. Fish oil, olive oils, nuts and seed oil contain these fats. These fats help lower the cholesterol levels, thus reducing the risk of heart diseases. Eat fish several times a week.

Nutrition For Life: Lastly, consume food which I rich in carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are the power supply of our body. Here again, choose complex carbohydrates instead of simple carbohydrates. Simple carbohydrates will simply make you gain weight whereas complex carbohydrates which are found in foods such as brown rice, whole wheat bread, oats, fruits and vegetables are low in calories and also filling. These foods are a;o rich with a lot of nutrients such as vitamins and minerals. If one follows the right balance of calories, fats and carbohydrates accompanied with vitamins and minerals, one can lead a healthy life.
