Eating Healthy Salads: Salads are one of the most awaited meals that can be healthy, taste delicious as well as be eaten by anyone with great delight. They are great options even if you are not on a diet and can be an excellent treat for your tummies. Experimentation is the key to making a good salad and a perfect salad is incomplete without a good dressing and the presentation is equally important. There are a number of ways through which you can make your salad look delicious and one way is by adding a lot of colorful fruits or vegetables to it.

Healthy Salad Dressings: Tomatoes, carrots, bell peppers, cabbages and so on are a few options that you can consider.

Let there be a lot of color as that will increase the appeal of your salad. For making your salad taste yummy you can add strong flavors if you are not making the use of mayonnaise. You can add mustard, red wine vinegar, herbs like parsley, dill, cilantro and so on.

To add a spicy taste to your dressing you can use mustard and also if you are making a potato salad, mustard is great as they taste better with it. If you are making a potato salad without mayonnaise in the dressing, you can fry the onions to be put in the salad for better taste.

Make sure that the lettuces you use in the salad are fresh and they also have seasonal varieties so try looking for them as well.

If you are making tossed green salads, ensure that you keep it simple and not add unnecessary ingredients. To keep the lettuce fresh for a longer time, clean them and dry the same. If you are going to use the lettuce later, roll them in paper towels or kitchen towels, zip in a plastic bag and refrigerate.

This can be kept for a week and prevents them from getting dehydrated and keeps them crisp. Salads will taste even better with fresh made dressings rather than using previously made dressings that were stored in bottles. When you are making fruit salads, put some sugar on the fruit so that the natural juices of the fruits come out. You can cut grapes and cherries into half so that the sugar can get the juices out and also get in at the same time. You can add some lemon juice as this will help to keep the fruits looking fresh and prevent them from turning brown.
